How Often Should Property Agents Post on TikTok and Reels?

For most property agents, 3 to 5 short videos a week is the sweet spot: enough for TikTok and Instagram to learn who your audience is, and few enough that you can keep the quality up. Consistency over a few months matters more than any single viral video.

Monthly content calendar for planning short-form video posts

Why consistency beats volume

Short-form platforms test each video with a small audience first, then push it further if people watch and engage. Posting regularly gives the algorithm more chances to find your buyers and sellers. It also gives you more data on which topics and hooks work for you.

Posting 20 videos in one week and then nothing for a month resets that progress.

A simple weekly mix

Here's a mix that works for most agents:

Day

Content type

Example

Mon

Market insight

"What this month's resale prices mean for sellers"

Wed

Listing or home tour

60–90 sec tour of a current listing

Fri

Buyer/seller education

"3 costs first-time buyers forget"

Sat

Personal / behind the scenes

A day of viewings, a client handover

Optional

Trend or Q&A

Answer a comment as a video reply

Listings alone won't grow an audience, because people only care about a listing if they're buying in that area right now. Education and insight videos are what make people follow you before they're ready to transact.

Batch film to stay consistent

The agents who keep posting are the ones who film in batches. One focused half-day can produce a month of content:

Camera on a tripod filming a batch of short-form videos in a studio
  1. Write 12–15 hooks in advance

  2. Film all talking-head videos in one setup and one outfit change

  3. Film listing B-roll in one visit per property

  4. Edit and schedule in one sitting (or hand it to an editor)

Repurpose everything

The same 60-second video can go to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook. Adjust the caption and hashtags for each, but don't re-film. A longer talking-head video can also become a blog post on your website, which helps you show up on Google too.

What to track each month

  • Average watch time and 3-second hold rate

  • Profile visits and link clicks

  • DMs and enquiries (the number that actually matters)

If a topic brings enquiries, make more of it, even if it got fewer views.
